Start Sailing

Whether you've never set foot in a boat or have years of sailing behind you, we offer a training programme with something for everyone - young and old, novice and experienced.

For beginners of any age, we have Open Days where you can go for a short sail with an experienced sailor in one of our club boats.

For younger sailors, we offer the Junior Cadet Club and Race Training.

For those 16 years old or above we run a combined RYA Level 1 and 2. These are structured sailing courses, with a qualification at the end, suitable for both absolute beginners and for those wanting to improve and to be able to sail a boat around a course. We also offer a RYA Start Racing and Intermediate Racing course and the advanced level RYA Seamanship.

For competent sailors we hold informal race training courses, where you will be given advice on starting sequences, boat handling and racing strategy.
