Trafalgar Night Celebration

A good night was had by all at the Trafalgar Night Celebration.

Military Band Music 'Hearts of Oak' played as everyone made their way to their seats.

'Nelsons Prayer' read by Ann Warburton, and the Speaker (Peter Warburton) gave an amusing talk on the traditional rules of Trafalgar Night .and signalled the diners to start dining. The starter was ushered in by the music 'Hearts of Oak' and the main course by the music 'Roast Beef of Old England'.

Decanters of Port were placed on the tables and the usual passing of the Port to the left commenced, although this proved to be very tricky as we weren't sure to whose left we should be passing......

Dinner finished with The Speaker proposing the Loyal Toast to 'The Queen' followed by a speech on the amazing achievements of Lord Nelson concluding with the silent toast to 'The Immortal Memory' .

But the celebration didn't finish quite yet as the music struck up with two sea shanties, 'Spanish Lady' and 'Drunken Sailor' which by that time we were, a lot of Drunken Sailors.........!

A night to be remembered...........
