Gybe Club offers a series of on-the-water sessions which are open to youngsters of any ability. During each session our RYA-trained coaches will help each child to have safe fun afloat, taking into account their sailing ability and weather conditions, while practicing sailing skills from the four stages of the RYA Youth Scheme.
To book a place, please scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on 'Select'.
Please note, parents/guardians of all Gybe Club cadets are expected to stay and help with rigging the boats, getting them on the water, de-rigging and putting the boats away, as well as helping out with a variety of other tasks to help the youngsters get the most out of this time. Training will be provided.
On-the-water Gybe Club sessions are held on Saturday mornings, between May and July and during September, with monthly shore-based sailing-themed meetings held throughout the winter months. Certificates and any special awards are presented to members of Gybe Club at their own Awards Evening in October.
For summer sailing, we recommend a full wet suit with arms and legs, sailing type boots, gloves, a spray top and a warm hat - and don't forget a towel!
We can provide buoyancy aids, but it's better if you have one of your own.
During the winter we won't be going out on the water but you will need a warm hat, coat and gloves.
