Powerboat Level 2 Course at LOSSC

Driving a power boat can be great fun, but it requires a good level of knowledge and respect for the water.

Aspiring powerboat drivers can join one of our LOSSC RYA Powerboat Level 2 courses - with the first one starting on Thursday 31 March.

This will give you the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat or RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence.

There are four sessions - two land based, and two longer, practical on-the-water sessions.

You'll spend most of the time on the water on an open RIB, learning about powerboat theory, collision regulations, launching and recovery from Lee on the Solent slipway, boat handling, close quarters handling, high speed maneuvers, man overboard recovery, securing to a buoy, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside.
