About LOSSC
Lee on Solent Sailing Club (LOSSC) aims to promote and encourage small boat and yacht sailing.
We provide a comprehensive racing, training and cruising programme for our members. We also offer a varied programme of social events.
Racing: We have a full sailing programme, with racing being held throughout the season. The club offers regular class racing for a wide range of dinghy classes plus asymmetric and non-asymmetric fleets. Our supported classes are the RS400, the 2000 (formerly Laser 2000) and the RS Aero, with a wide variety of other boats regularly taking part in our racing events. We also host a number of open meetings and national championships during the year and our own regatta in July.
Training: We provide a full dinghy adult and youth training programme as well as opportunities to try other watersports. LOSSC is an RYA Recognised Training Centre providing a variety of courses for members. Sail training for adults and cadets is provided during the summer months. Other shore-based and water-based training sessions are arranged on specialised areas together with ad hoc sessions on topical subjects.
Cruising: Several members own yachts and there's often crewing opportunities for both the experienced and inexperienced. Informal sailing and dinghy cruising opportunities are scheduled throughout the year, together with organised flotillas for the small but enthusiastic group of yacht owners, in the Solent and further afield.
Social: The club has a strong and vibrant social scene and offers a social membership to those preferring not to sail but wishing to enjoy the club atmosphere and the company of its members.
