Berthing
LOSSC is fortunate to have three compounds. These surround the Signal Station, providing space for berthing of around 160 dinghies.
Berths are available to club sailing members, the children (aged 14 to 17 inclusive) of social members, and Gybe Club parents, subject to availability.
Berth allocations and use will be made in accordance with the Sailing Committee's Berthing Allocation Policy 2024.pdf and Rule 15 of the LOSSC Club Rules and Bye-Laws which can be found on the 'About' LOSSC' page.
Boats that are not deemed seaworthy will not be given a space in the compound.
The fee is dependent on the class of boat (see below).
Berthing Allocations
All berths are numbered and allocated by the Sailing Committee's Berthing Team.
Please ensure that you secure your boat well when it is in its berth. Any Boat not in its allocated berth will be moved at your risk. Failure to pay for an occupied berth runs the risk of the club disposing of the boat to recover dues. Trailers must not be kept on Club property except in their allocated berth.
It is the club's policy to promote active sailing and so boat usage is monitored throughout the season.
Insurance
All craft must be insured against third party risks of at least £2,000,000. If your boat is in our compound, you are deemed to have accepted this condition.
Berthing Fees (annual charge shown for 2024 season)
Berthing fees are due in full for berths initially agreed during the period April to September, and at 50% for berths initially agreed from October - March. No refunds will be given for berths relinquished part-way through the membership year.
Due to a high level of demand, we are currently limited with space. Please inquire whether there is space available by contacting our Berthing Team at berthmaster@lossc.org.uk.
