SLOSSHH

Well, What can we say about the SLOSHH this year?

To start off with a big thank you for everyone that made the event happen: the 6 RIB crews, the committee boat and race officers, and the people behind the scenes that organised the RIBs, the buoys, the flags, the results, the duties, the SI's and NORs, the catering, the prizes and the return of the trophy.

I am sure there are many other things I have forgotten but between us we put on a good event . . . nearly . . . apart from the one thing I was told to ensure, which was good wind.

I can only apologise for not supplying this!

The first start was abandoned due to a 40 degree wind shift and lots of boats being the wrong side of the committee boat.

The second start saw a recall due to lots of boats being over the line.

The third attempt got under way and as we turned onto the run . . . the wind died . . . so everyone headed for home!

One thing I did get right was a lovely wind to sail home with 'ods law!

We had a great turn out with 27 Lee boats, 21 from Seafarer and 9 from Hill Head, so LOSSC had a great chance of bringing the Trophy home . . . maybe next time?

And I do have the results if anyone would like to see them. . .
