As the weekday evening sailing season draws to a close and autumn begins to set in, it's time to look ahead to the next season snooker season!
Snooker Social Wednesday 17th September: Pros on Show!
Over the summer, we've hosted a series of well-attended Learners and Improvers evenings on the second Wednesday of each month. These sessions have brought together a great mix of seasoned players and complete beginners, all sharing tips, experience, and helping each other work toward their next big break.
This month, we're kicking off the new season in style. On Wednesday 17th September (note: for this month only, it's the third Wednesday), we'll be hosting a special social night featuring many of last season's cup finalists and winners. It's set to be a great evening of friendly games, good company, and the perfect opportunity to get more involved.
Play will begin at 7:00pm in the snooker room. As always, food and drink will be available from the members' bar from 6:00pm. Whether you're already a regular or thinking of picking up a cue for the first time, you're very welcome to join us.
Snooker Cup Entries Now Open
Entry sheets for this year's snooker competitions are now up on the noticeboard in the snooker room. New for this season is a simple handicap system that will be in place before the competitions begin. Each player will be assigned a handicap, giving everyone a fair chance in their matches whether you're an experienced player or just starting out.
Now is a great time to get involved, encourage your friends to enter, and make the most of the coming season. We're expecting a bumper turnout, and with the nights drawing in, there's no better way to liven up those dark evenings.
If you're a new member, this is a fantastic way to meet others in the club and get to know the community. There are Men's, Ladies', and Mixed Doubles competitions something for everyone. Why not come along to the social and sign up for the cup at the same time?
