Patrol Boat Course

Driving a club patrol boat during the club racing, training or social sailing sessions requires certain skills in addition to those learnt during the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course.

For this reason, it is recommended that anyone taking on this responsibility should first complete the Club's Patrol Boat course.

Most importantly, this half-day course will help you become familiar with rescue techniques, as well as elements of mark laying and race management.

While this course is based on the RYA Safety Boat course, it is focused specifically on the needs of safety at LOSSC and is not certificated.
